WHAT WE DO
The Mountain Rescue Service Hochpustertal is a voluntary rescue organisation, founded in 1958 in order to assume accident assistance in the Alpine area. The members, which all do their service voluntarily and at no charge, a permanently available, adequately trained and equipped and always concerned with helping persons in need in the mountains.
WHO WE ARE
The members of the Mountain Rescue Service Hochpustertal have normal jobs and assist people seeking help voluntarily and at no charge. The love for nature and the mountains, that every volunteer has, is fundamental for the required conviction, dedication and commitment in order to give their best when people need help in the mountains.
WHERE WE ARE
Our service area is located in the Dolomites – UNESCO World Natural Heritage – in South Tyrol and is distributed among the municipalities of Toblach, Niederdorf, Prags, Welsberg-Taisten and Gsies. Many world-famous peaks, popular with alpinists, such as the Three Peaks, Mt. Dürrenstein, Mt. Hoher Mann and many others, can be found in our service area. Popular destinations, such as Lake Prags or Plätzwiese pasture, the ski tours in Gsies Valley, the cross-country ski runs between Toblach and Cortina and many toboggan runs attract many excursionists.
